Benji Ramirez is the District Fish Biologist for ODFW’s Klamath Watershed District. He grew up fishing, trapping, and hunting in SW Wyoming before making the move to Oregon where he received his Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Science Degrees in Fisheries from Oregon State University. Following graduation in 2012, he began his career in fisheries working in the Coast Range of Oregon before moving to the other side of the state when he started his career with ODFW leading a Redband Trout project on the Donner und Blitzen River based out of Hines. Following his work in Hines, he moved to Klamath Falls in 2018 and was lucky enough to be there for the historic removal of four dams on the Klamath River in 2024 in the largest restoration project in North American history and the subsequent of return of anadromous fish to the Upper Klamath Basin.
