Landlocked sockeye salmon aka “kokanee” have become a popular target of NW anglers.  They’re a plentiful, great eating fish that can be caught most of the year.  Two close-by lakes, Yale and Merwin, deliver excellent kokanee fishing with some honest-to-goodness whoppers showing every year.  And like most fisheries, the more you know the better your results.  We’re fortunate to have landed longtime S.W.
