2025 Sportsmen’s Show 3D OPEN ARCHERY Challenge – Official Rules

Chapter 1

1.1          Registration is available online THESPORTSHOWS.COM/3D beginning November 1, 2024 and will close January 28th, 2025. Onsite
                  registration will be limited to space available.          

1.2          Registration Fees:

                  Open (15+)                      $45.00

                  Youth (14 & under)       $25.00

                  The registration fee includes admission into the Washington Sportsmen’s Show Wednesday – Saturday ONLY. 

1.3          For an additional registration fee, participants may shoot an additional qualification round.

1.4          Each competitor will be required to sign the liability & photo release upon registration.  Parent or guardian will be required to sign the waivers 

                  for participants under the age of 18.

 

Chapter 2

2.1          All competitors age 15+ will shoot in the Open division, shooters age 14 & under will shoot in the Youth division. All equipment styles will 

                  compete in the open division, field points only.  Crossbows are not allowed.

2.2          There will be six (6) opportunities to shoot a qualification round.

2.3          Qualification round Shooting Times:

                  Wednesday January 29th, 12:00pm – 4:00pm

                  Thursday January 30th, 12:00pm – 4:00pm

                  Friday January 31st 10:00pm – 1:00 pm & 2:00pm – 5:00pm

                  Saturday February 1st 10:00pm – 1:00pm & 2:00pm – 5:00pm

2.4          Qualification rounds will be ten 3D animal targets, marked yardage up to 100 yards.  Two arrows per target with standard IBO 

                   scoring (11, 10, 8, 5).

2.4a       Youth shooters will only shoot five targets, under 50 yards.

2.5          An optional bonus target will be available. Target will be a steel animal at an unmarked distance. One arrow only for 10 extra points.

2.6          Participants will be placed in shooting groups of 3-4 by tournament staff. Groups must include at least two non-related adults.

2.7          Rangefinders will be allowed, except for bonus target.

2.8          The top three scores from each qualification round will advance to the finals on Sunday February 2nd.

2.9          Ties will be decided by a 1-arrow closest to center shoot-off at the end of each session.

2.10       Finalists will be notified by email and/or text message as soon as scores are finalized.

 

Chapter 3

3.1          Youth finals will start at 10:30am.

3.2          An elimination round will be shot, consisting of a round through the 3D course, the 12-ring will be scorable when available.

3.3          The top three scores will be eligible for prizes.

3.4          Ties will be decided by a 1-arrow closest to center shoot-off.

3.5          Open division elimination round will start at 12:00 pm.

3.6          An elimination round will be shot, consisting of a round through the 3D course, the 12-ring will be scoreable when available.

3.7          The top 6 scores will advance to the final. Ties will be decided by a 1-arrow closest to center shoot-off.

3.8          The final will be 1-arrow per round at an unmarked steel target. Shooting will continue from various shooting positions until there is only one 

                  person left.

 

Chapter 4

4.1          Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition on Sunday.

4.2          The top three youth shooters will win prizes TBD.

4.3          Open division will share a $5,000 cash prize split as follows:

                 1st Place            $2,500

                 2nd Place           $1,500

                 3rd Place            $1,000

4.4          A custom belt buckle will also be awarded to the first-place winner in both divisions.

4.5.        All cash winners must complete a W-9 form that will be provided for them at the event.
